1. Not washing your face before bed

2. Not getting enough sleep

Bonus tip: try using a silk pillowcase – other materials take moisture from the skin, leaving it dry and flaky.

3. Smoking

When it comes to your skin, smoking causes ultimate damage. It results in dehydration and deprives the skin of the oxygen and vital vitamins it needs to recover and regenerate. Over time, this will leave you looking older, and your skin in need of repair. Start making the steps today to quit smoking if you haven’t already – your skin will certainly benefit from it .

4. A poor diet

While chocolate, sweets and wine are great as a mouthwatering occasional treat, consuming excessive amounts can do significant damage. Eating too much sugar and drinking too much alcohol are both particularly detrimental to both our skin and our bodies in general. These two vices can cause breakouts, aggravate hormonal acne and lead to red, inflamed skin.

5. Tanning
